Letter 04

Hi Chuck,

My name is Katrina and I am very happily married to "Tommy Daniels". Thanks for mentioning him among the greats. He's the love of my life and it just so happens that Q-104 was how we met.

It was Christmas night, 1992. I lived in Skyline, AL (just north of Scottsboro). But as you know, Q-104 had a monster signal. It was THE station to listen to when I was growing up. It was the 1st FM I could pick up on the radio out in the county where I lived. Wow, the memories!

Anyway, I had been to my sisters that Christmas evening and all the family was there and it seemed that everyone was with someone but me. I got so depressed that I decided I had had enough holiday cheer and I left, only to go home to an empty house. I remember thinking,

"Will I ever find someone to share my life with?"

I turned on Q-104 and they were playing Christmas music. I decided to request a Christmas song to try and get in a better mood. "Tommy" was working and answered the phone that night. We started talking and we just hit it off so much that I agreed to go out with him THAT NIGHT!

That's not like me AT ALL, but it was pretty much love at first sight for both of us and now we've been happily married for 7 years!

I don't know how many people out there truly remember the "glory days" of the greatest radio station in the southeast, but I do and I will never forget all the memories that I associate with growing up listening to Q-104...but the most special thing about it to me was finding my soul mate there!

I know you were looking for stories from when the Q was on Chestnut, and Tommy worked there during that time, but I met him when the Q was on Rainbow Dr.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my story! Thanks for what you're doing with this website. I think it's an awesome tribute!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Tommy Daniels!
